Although most people associate smoke with traditional charcoal barbecue, they usually do not know that they can add extra flavor even when grilling with gas grills,  of seafood, vegetables, poultry, meat, pizza, and even desserts .

If you have a gas barbecue, to enjoy delicious smoked food, all you need is a smoking box and a handful of smoking wood chips of your choice. Wood chips give a rich smoky taste to whatever you grill in both gas and charcoal grills! Aromatic smoking woods are a simple way to impress your friends and family.

You should also be aware that depending on the type of wood, the smoke can be strong or mild and have a different flavor. For this reason, some woods complement the natural flavor of certain foods better than others. Feel free to combine flavors according to your preferences and food:

The use of aromatic wood in a gas grill is quite easy. All you have to do is follow these steps:

1. Place the wood chips in an aluminum drip pan filled with water and soak them for about an hour and a half.
2. For each grilling you will need about a cup of chips.
3. Prepare your gas grill at a moderate temperature.
4. Drain well and add them to the smoking box.
5. When the woods begin to smoke, move the food over the smoking box.
6. If you use indirect grilling you will need to add another handful every 45 minutes.

If you have a charcoal grill, the use of aromatic smoking chips is even easier. Just the instructions apply to the gas grill, except you do not need the special smoking box. Just place the wood chips on your charcoal.

Where there is smoke there is fire. But in this case it is important that smoking woods does not catch fire, because then the smoke will give a bitter taste to your food. The same can cause the sudden increase to heat. So soaking and temperature monitoring are the two most important things to watch out when using smoking woods or planks.
